I preached in English, Bro. Lewis translated into Tok Pisin (Pidgin, national language of PNG), and the local preachers took turns translating the Tok Pisin into the local dialect.
On Jan 12, Bro. Lewis and I laid hands on two local pastors, chosen by the church last year, ordaining them into the ministry.
Many people attended the baptism
One of the pastors explaining the biblical mode of baptism
The church shared some of their "mumu" (pit bbq)-cooked meal with me, but I didn't get to enjoy much of it, since I didn't think shattered glass from the kitchen window would sit very well in my stomach (see previous post for explanation). =)
This brother removed some of the rocks that were thrown through the window the day before.
On Monday, these men repaired the fence that the mob tore down the previous afternoon
It seems like we had a good downpour every afternoon. One night it came down so heavy we had to stop preaching to let it pass.
It was not easy to say goodbye to these dedicated followers of the Lord Jesus Christ!
